MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING AND WEAR IT PINK DAY

Friday 5th of October marked a very busy day for the St Mark's Sixth Form and staff. A large group of students, as part of their Enrichment Programme, helped organise two successful charity fundraising events.

One was Pink Day! This day was    promoted across the school, where     students donated £1 to wear one pink item to school. This event was to support the Breast Cancer Charity Unit at St Margaret's Hospital in Epping,  who are a charity  devoted to raising awareness of breast cancer in the local community and conducting clinical trials researching treatment of breast  cancer. They also support those whilst undergoing     treatment in such programmes as Fabulous and Beautiful, which gives pampering sessions, tips on styling wigs and makeup.

The second fundraising event to take place this day was the Macmillan Coffee Morning: The World's Biggest Coffee Morning!  At break, the Sixth Form students, aided by members of the Admin Team, served coffees and cakes to the staff at St Mark's, who were more than happy to donate to this worthwhile cause.

In total, both events raised an amazing £762.83 for cancer research. We are incredibly proud of our Sixth Form students who helped plan these wonderful events.
